The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), or Obamacare as many people know it, has transformed the way healthcare is administered in the United States. From individual plans to large group plans, everyone in the United States is affected by this legislation. Health insurance previously had pre-existing condition limitations on many plans. The Affordable Care Act no longer allows these types of limitations. New health insurance exchanges, or marketplaces, will change the way people access health insurance.
